DUCA CARLO GUARINI, a farm with almost 1000 years of food and wine history in Salento. Here are produced the best wines of Salento, including the well-known wine called Primitivo. The fundamental characteristic that distinguishes the Guarini wines from others, is that of possessing a strong personality as well as being authentic wines. They are the result of continuous experimentation.
Duca Carlo Guarini, a dynasty that has its roots since 1040 in Puglia. A family that narrates the departure from Normandy to reach Terra d’Otranto, centuries ago. A rather fascinating story, as it contemplates many episodes, events and many small anecdotes. Many historical figures have been linked to the Gurarini family in the past. But the story that we like the most to tell is that of the link to our land. In fact we have been cultivating it for almost a thousand years, and we consider ourselves to be farmers who are custodians of the agricultural heritage of Puglia.
Thus we cultivate 700 hectares of properties between estates and farms in Salento, of which 70 are vineyards in the fief of Torchiarolo, 260 of secular olive groves in the fief of Scorrano. Many are the arable land with vegetables, old cereals and new rediscoveries such as fiber and seed hemp. We own a winery and a historic mill. We produce, as they are called, the best wines of Salento, together with oil, cereals, legumes and preserves. Everything we produce reflects the character of our territory and speak of sun, sea, land, passion, history, elegance, culture and hospitality.
