Emilia Romagna is a unique region from the administrative point of view. Although administratively united, Emilia and Romagna have different traditions and food uses. The cuisine of Emilia, after eight centuries of autonomy of its cities is with different traditional cuisines. The Emilian cuisine has recognized reputation of a solid cuisine, tasty and generously topped. The local cuisine of Romagna is compared easier being bound to the farming tradition of the region. Despite some differences of background, there are also points of contact between the two culinary traditions and different dishes that are typical of both.
