The city is located high in the Lombard plain at the southern edge of the Brianza at odds of 162 meters above sea level; is situated about 15 km from the center of Milan and about 40 km from Lecco and Como. It's crossed from north to south by the River Lambro. Winters in Brianza are much colder than those of the coastal cities, but without reaching the extremes typical of continental climates of central Europe, thanks to the protection given by the Alps. The summers are hot, poorly ventilated and very humid and therefore very sultry. In general, rainfall in this area are well distributed throughout the year.
