Parma is located in northern Italy at 57 m above sea level is in the western part of Emilia , between the Apennines and the Po Valley , the city is divided in two by the river Parma, a tributary of the Po, which, before entering the heart of the historic center, receives the waters of Baganza. The climate in Parma is typically continental: summers are usually hot and muggy with temperatures of about 30°C with some time even stronger on the lower plains. The winter is harsh with temperatures often below zero. In winter, snowfalls are frequent Apennines while the sector fall flat on average every winter about 30 cm of snow. In autumn it is frequently the phenomenon of fog.
