The city of Pistoia to 67 meters above the sea level is developed at the northwest end of the plain of Florence-Prato-Pistoia . The city's climate is strongly influenced both by the position at the northwestern tip of the basin, which from the nearby hills of the Apennines. Compared to nearby Prato fluctuating temperatures are quite high while, Pistoia is characterized by a ventilation lesser and greater rainfall. Pistoia is in fact one of the coldest cities of Tuscany during the winter, while in summer is characterized by increased ventilation and less muggy nights.
